Laura has been riding since the age of 9.  She had her first horse at the age of 11 and began showing when she was 12.  Laura began her show career at the AHSA recognized shows locally held on Long Island, New York advancing through the Maiden, Novice, and Limit Divisions.  At the age of 14 Laura advanced to the Medal/Maclay and Jr. Hunter Divisions, qualifying for the Medal Finals at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and the Maclay Finals at Madison Square Garden, New York in 4 successive years.  In 1983 she won the Jr. Hunter Warmup Class at Harrisburg, was the Professional Horseman's Association (PHA) National Reserve Champion, won a Bronze USET Medal, and qualified for the USET Finals at Gladstone, New Jersey.
After taking time off to pursue her education, finishing with her Master's Degree in Psychology from Catholic University in Washington D.C., Laura decided to come back to her true passion.  At that time the idea for YellowHouse Farm was born, a small horse operation dedicated to finding quality horses for the purpose of training them in the Hunter/Jumper discipline, introducing them to the show circuit, and, if we are unable to keep them, pairing them with the right rider to create the best match of horse to rider to create a successful experience in the show ring for both of you.
We welcome you to visit YellowHouse to discuss our horses, our methods, and our philosophy.  Thank you for visiting our site and we hope to see you soon.
